In the book of Joshua, the key verse we can meditate every day is :-
” but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD”.
To unlock and possess our inheritance, the first key as taught in Joshua is 1;4-8 where we are asked to:-
· Be strong and courageous
· Never depart from meditating His Word
A parallel teaching would be Psalms 1 below:-
This is my favorite scripture and you too can make it yours to be really strong and courageous. It teaches me not to be distracted to or attracted by the things of this world from my daily walk with God. We know how the couple Adam and Eve fell because of the deception of our enemy. They took their eyes off God’s word and were attracted by what they saw and this led to a desire in their hearts to disobey God. Here in Psalms 1, we are taught never to be distracted, whether we walk, stand or sit.
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful”
In verse 1, we see 3 words used:-
In Hebrews, walk has the meaning of “to be led“. We must not be led by the ungodly!
Stand means to “remain” not one time but again and again, that is repeatedly it becomes a habit, in the company of sinners!
Sit or seated carry the meaning of “to dwell“. Yes to make it our dwelling place in the company of the “scornful”. Ever sit down with someone who murmur and murmur, complain and complain all day long? They do not have the peace and joy of the Lord, right?
Now verse 2 is the cure:-
“2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper”
Picture yourself seeing a tree growing by the river of clean pure water! I encourage you to meditate on the book of Ephesians. You will discover much more “how to be strong” by studying all 6 chapters!
It begins by telling us “to be seated“ with or rest in Christ, then to “walk” a walk that is pleasing to God and finally :-
“To stand strong in the power of His Might (KRATOS)”
I will share on how to have Kratos Power tomorrow.
