Power of Two!
Now let’s read today’s scriptures on the power of two. There are a few scriptures we will meditate today. These are powerful teachings taught in the Bible. Learn it and you will make yourself available to receive His “Power” to teach, preach and heal! Amen.
“I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven”.
You know, when we “follow” Jesus, we have been changed into another person. The Bible calls it “New Creation”. That’s what happened to Zacchaeus. Before his conversion, Zacchaeus was all alone. He was a tax collector for the Roman Empire and he charged hefty interest, more than what he was supposed to collect. Because of that he was hated, wealth acquired through his wicked ways. But though rich, yet Zacchaeus was all alone, a lonely man. His life was empty. But then one day everything changed when he decided to follow Jesus. Let’s read Luke 19:8:-
“8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.”
Now it is Zacchaeus plus Jesus. In his conversion, love poured into his heart. Hard became pliable and soft. So instead of cheating, he decided to restore those he cheated by returning them four (4) times more. Amen. That’s the Power of Two.
Similarly, when Jesus comes into our lives, His provision becomes ours to possess and it is “UNLIMTED”; That’s because it is now “You plus Jesus”, the power of two coming together.
In the scripture above Matthew 18:19, we are shown this awesome power when believers come together to worship and pray! That’s when Heaven will stand still!
Another mysterious scripture is equally powerful touching on the “Power of Two”. This is a mystery because mathematically, it does not add up. Let’s read Deuteronomy 32:30
“30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight”.
During that period, the enemies were more powerful than the Israelite’s because of their disobedience. But when they obeyed, they became mighty men of God. There are more scriptures equally mysterious. Let’s look at Leviticus 26:6-8:-
“6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
7 And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword”
These numbers “5 shall chase 100″ and “100 shall put 10,000 to flight” they just do not mathematically add up or make sense! But they are the words of God and we just have to simply believe. Perhaps one day it will be revealed when we are in Heaven! Amen.
Here’s another scripture taken from Joshua:-
8 But cleave unto the LORD your God, as ye have done unto this day.
9 For the LORD hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.
10 One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.
11 Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the LORD your God.
In verse 9, Joshua at this time was old and had to pass on the leadership. He spoke and left instructions to all the leaders of Israel to remind them to continue to stay faithful and obedient to the Lord. And so long as they remained faithful and obedient, no enemy can stand before them for God will fight their battles. In verse 10, it says “One man of you shall chase a thousand “! This is the mystery of the ways of God!
Finally, read these words in Ecclesiastes 4:
9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
And verse 4:12:-
“And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
So, brethren, let’s pay heed to the teaching in the Bible on the “Power of Two”. Let’s always remember to make efforts regularly to gather together to study the scriptures, worship and pray. For it is at these meetings that we experience the divine “Power of Two”.
