It Is Finished!
How many of you would praise our Lord for that three (3) precious words “It is Finished” in John 19:30?
“So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.” Oh how grateful we should be for that was the day when he laid up his life on the Calvary for sinners. He came to save the “lost”.
How about the verse in Mark 16:38 about what He did after His resurrection?
“Mark 15:38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.”
Yes, His work to do the Father’s will for three and a half years on earth as the Son of man was finished! And when He took His own Blood to Heaven, He gave us all a New Beginning to anyone who will believe! He lives that we shall live also.
It is the institution of the New Covenant H made with the Father on our behalf with His own Precious Blood? Hallelujah , Worthy is the lamb of God! Praise His Holy Name!
Now we can partake of the Holy Communion, the Bread and the Cup everyday to remember what He did for you and I. Amen.
Now let’s look at the words of the New Covenant and meditate on them today:-
“15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.”
This is Glorious, isn’t it? He has put his words in our hearts and in our minds. Now we can know Him and its fullness through the teaching and guidance of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. Read Ephesians 1 below and see for yourself how much He has given and provided for us, His children! Amen.
“18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what “the riches of the glory of his inheritance” in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church.”
