Today let me share on the word “Encouragement” set out in many scriptures in the Bible.
How often do you gather together with believers. In the Bible, we are taught to encourage one another. There are many instructive words on “one another”. Paul always encourage his disciples to gather together to pray and to encourage one another. Helping one another in times of need is also a way of encouragement.
This is truly important. Let’s read one example in Deuteronomy 1. Here we read the story of God asking Joshua to be strong in order to take possession of Canaan, the land of milk and honey. Moses knew that Joshua needed to be encouraged to be able to be successful and what he had to do.
“But Joshua the son of Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go in thither: encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherit it”.
Do you see it, the importance of encouraging one another? Encouragement will certainly bears good fruits!
In the Book of Luke, our Lord too urged His followers to learn to encourage and to strengthen one another:-
“But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren”.
So brethren go forth and seek those you can encourage. Share with them a word of encouragement and pray along with them and when you do, the Holy Spirit too will be there with you to lead and guide you! You will be surprised how much this can mean to another believer!
